Nico O’Donnell
Elite Pitching Instructor
San Antonio native Nico O’Donnell is a former All-State pitcher and three-year varsity letter winner at Winston Churchill High School, where he earned All-State, All-Region, and All-District Pitcher honors during his senior season in 2017.
Nico began his collegiate career at the University of Texas at Austin, competing for the Longhorns during the 2018 and 2019 seasons before transferring to California State University, Fresno, where he pitched for the Bulldogs in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He later returned to the University of Texas to complete his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health with a concentration in Sport Management. In 2022, he also coached within RBI Austin’s 14U–18U Academy Select program, further expanding his player development experience.
At the professional level, Nico has competed across multiple independent leagues, including the American Association, Frontier League, and Pecos League. Most recently with the Garden City Wind, he posted a dominant 0.74 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched. Known for his durability and elite arm strength, Nico has reached velocities of 100+ mph while maintaining exceptional arm health.
As an instructor, Nico specializes in velocity development, pitch design, individualized mechanics, and athletic performance training for pitchers. His training philosophy blends data-driven development with real-game experience, helping athletes safely increase velocity, improve movement profiles, and build efficient, repeatable mechanics tailored to each player.
Drawing from his Division I and professional playing background, Nico prepares athletes for the demands of high-level competition by emphasizing pitching intelligence, mental toughness, and professional-level preparation. His mission is to help every athlete develop the tools, confidence, and discipline needed to compete at the next level—and beyond.
